LARK in a nutshell:

Religion has created a misunderstanding about what God really thinks of us. Without a pathway to see the God Jesus revealed, we never learn to live like we’re already loved, whole, and free.

LARK is a nonprofit ministry cutting through religious noise with scandalous news. Our mission is to create content and host conversations that help people live in the freedom Jesus already gave—right where they are.

We’re not just talking about changing what you believe, think, or do. We are talking about an entirely different “way” of being human: free.

ABOUT OUR NAME

After a lengthy renaming process, Russ and Tony landed on the name “LARK.” We were first introduced to the word through the writings of Robert Farrar Capon. Speaking about the grace of God, Capon once wrote, “The gift of grace is not a reward for hard work or good behavior, it is a lark, a joke, a hilariously inequitable largesse (generosity): It is, in a word, a gift.”

“THE GIFT OF GRACE IS NOT A REWARD FOR HARD WORK OR GOOD BEHAVIOR, IT IS A LARK…”

Drawing its secondary meaning from the high-flying songbird, the word LARK refers to a “cheerful adventure” or “mischievous playfulness.” The word refers to the kind of risky, unrestrained behavior that flows from uninhibited freedom.

LARK begs us to ask the question: What would you do if you knew you were held by a love that will never let you go?

God loves us without restraint. His grace knows no bounds. There is joyfulness and excitement in the heart of God toward the broken. This astonishing love for the world drove Jesus to the cross, where he rescued the cosmos single-handedly.

It really is a LARK!
