The Table Guide

Your Table. Tonight.
You don't need a church building. You don't need a program. You don't need to be qualified.
You need a table. Some people. Something to eat and drink.
A kitchen table, a pub, a coffee shop, a back porch — anywhere people can sit down, slow down, and be human together. That’s where Jesus did his best work. Still does.
This isn't something you start. It's something you step into, and others step in with you when they see it's real.
Here's what it looks like when it's just your life.
Tell
This is confession — though not the way you're picturing it.
Because confession isn't something we do to get forgiveness. It's something we do because we already have it. It's the exhale of someone who knows they're not on trial.
No leader with a lanyard. Just you being honest about where life actually is — the struggle, the doubt, the mess — trusting that the God who already made his home in you can handle it.
Your spouse across the dinner table. A friend at a pub on a Tuesday. Your kid at the kitchen island over breakfast. Wherever life is actually happening. That's where you tell the truth about it.
That kind of honesty is rare. It's also where faith grows.
Toast
Eat something. Drink something. Celebrate.
This is communion — and it's simpler than you've seen it done.
Communion was never a sanctioned event with prescribed leaders deciding who qualifies. It’s an ordinary meal where ordinary people remember the One who already gave everything. No velvet ropes. Just bread, a cup, and the scandalous reality that grace was always the point.
So raise a glass. Point to who Jesus already is in the mess, the failure, the fear, the doubt. Toast the God who doesn't flinch.
That's communion. It fits on any table, in any town, on any night.
Teach
Jesus said to disciple others as you go through everyday life — and clarified it simply: teach others to treasure what he's shown. Not a weekly event. Not an information download. Just passing along something true as life happens.
Think of it like a house. The foundation has to be solid — maybe 10% of the whole thing. Without it, nothing built on top holds. But the other 90% is learning to trust what's true in the middle of real life. And no sermon does that.
Content informs. Ongoing honest conversation transforms.

Then get back to the table. That's where the other 90% happens.
That's the Whole Thing
Tell the truth. Toast to grace. Teach others to treasure what is good as you go.
No lesson plans. No stage. No program. Your job isn't to fix anyone — it's to live this way and make space for others to do the same.
As you do, you'll find people who want more meals like this. That's when you find times to gather. Not before. There's no wrong table. There's just the one in front of you tonight.
This is the Church Jesus actually started.
