Reflection Questions:

• What was your previous understanding of the Great Commission?

• How does the translation "As you are going..." change the way you view mission in the everyday?

• Which of the 5 functions of discipleship stood out most to you? How does seeing discipleship through this lens encourage you? How does it scare you?

• In light of the indiscriminate inclusion of the kingdom/dragnet parable, how does this change your posture toward your neighbors?

Key Passages:

• God is inviting the reconciled to share the good news of reconciliation. Extend to others what you enjoy [2 Cor. 5:17-20]

• "Therefore, as you are going, disciple people of all nations..." [Matt. 28:16-20]

• "You are my witnesses..." points to identity first [Acts 1:8]

• God became flesh and dwelt among us. This is good news and a model for presence [Jn.1:14]

• The indiscriminate kingdom—described as a net—is a good model for how we fish [Matt. 13:47-50]
